What We Believe?

What we believe:

Our Mission - To bring people to a living relationship with Jesus, equipping them to serve the community and each other with love so that God’s name is glorified.

Integrity - As people who have received the grace and forgiveness of God, we aim to live according to His word and in the power of the Holy Spirit, so to become more like His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. In all we do we will deal openly and honestly with people, prepared to be truthful in love, and maintaining both accountability and confidentiality.
Some Scriptures: Titus 2:1-7, 3:8; Ephesians 4:1-2, 15; 1 Timothy 2:7; 1 Peter 1:22; Romans 12:9; 2 Corinthians 6:3, 4a, 7

Evangelism - We aim to live as a people who are committed to the urgent and unfinished task of reaching the lost for Christ, both at home and world-wide.  Some Scriptures: Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 10:13-15

Community - Recognising we cannot be effective unless we live with those we hope to reach, our aim is to be a part of this community, to build relationships and so to have an awareness of the needs of the people in the community. As a church we will, as much as in our power, endeavour to meet those needs and offer hope in place of despair. We will be a place where people can believe and belong.  Some Scriptures: Philippians 2:1-11; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Jeremiah 29:11-14a; Romans 12:4, 9-13

Discipleship - Our goal is to equip believers for a lifetime of effective, Christ-like service, so they in turn will disciple others in the same way.
Some Scriptures: Ephesians 4:11-12, 16; 2 Timothy 1:13, 2:1-2

Purposeful - Our aim is that everything we do or say, and all our church ministries, will focus on reaching the lost for Christ and bringing them to Spiritual maturity.  Some Scriptures: Colossians 3:15-17

Creativity - In fulfilling this purpose, we aim to be a people who are communicating God’s love through Creative Ministries. We recognise and will make use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit to convey the message of salvation in innovative and God-honouring ways.  Some Scriptures: Ephesians 4:11-14; 5:19-20; 1 Corinthians 9:22-23

Biblical Base - Our belief that all the truth and guidance we need can be found in God’s Word, the Bible, means that everything we plan for the ministry of our church will be based on Scripture and done in God’s strength.  Some Scriptures: 2 Timothy 2:16-17; Romans 4:22; Deuteronomy 4:6; 30:11-14; Psalm 119:11
